For 7 ½ Weeks Old, That’s a Lot of Bull.
I was waiting to be able to band the calf when I felt both had dropped. I could never feel anything until at 5 ½ weeks old and he came in walking a little stiff legged in the back, I felt this one big thing with a thick cord above it and nothing else. The vet was out to the neighbors the next week and he stopped by to check on it. He said that there was an infection and had me give him a shot every day for a bit over a week. The calf wasn’t running around very much until a couple days after I started giving him the shots. Then he would spook the donkey with his running. I took Hamburger in to the vet this morning and we held him at the back of the truck and the vet took them off. They should have both been like the small one on my fingertips. It was a bit too big. Maybe he will get to feeling better in a few days.
