Shasta, Off at a Run
I opened the gate to the east lane for the first time this year. Big John was the first one to the other end of the lane into the corner pasture. He rolled in the dirt spot there and then Dolly Llama had his turn. Big John had to start running around and braying which sent everything else except for Hamburger, back down the lane almost to the chicken yard, that happened a couple of times. Then the calves had to start kicking up their heels and running around also. Hamburger had to do it too but it all centered on me, for him. I kept hopping that as he would come dancing toward me that he would miss me as he always did, but it does make you wonder. He did it several times, always coming back to me to get some attention. He had stayed near me when Big John had been running so maybe he thought that I would protect him if Big John did it some more. I wondered who would protect me from Hamburger.
